Southern Christian had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Evangel Christian Academy on Monday. Jedd Scott made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Langley was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while going 3-for-3. Langley is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Easton Durden, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. Another player making a difference was Carter Chatman, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.
Victory Christian Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .760. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .500 or higher in three consecutive games.
Southern Christian now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Victory Christian Academy, their win bumped their record up to 4-1.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal.
