Payson is 0-10 against Spanish Fork since April of 2017 but things could change on Tuesday. The Payson Lions will be playing in front of their home fans against the Spanish Fork Dons at 3:30 p.m. Payson is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.1 runs per game this season.
It was a proper cat-fight when Payson took on Hurricane on Saturday. Payson blew past Hurricane 8-2. The result was nothing new for the Lions, who have now won three contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Aydrie Christensen made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in May of 2024. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Allie Callahan, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That home run was her first of the season. Anna Marvin was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
Payson hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hurricane struck out six times.
Meanwhile, it was close, but on Saturday Spanish Fork sidestepped Crimson Cliffs for an 8-6 win.
Spanish Fork let Jade Romero and Blakely Hathaway run wild. Romero scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-4, while Hathaway went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Lia Higginson, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles and one RBI.
Payson's victory bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Spanish Fork, their win bumped their record up to 2-4.
Spanish Fork's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Payson hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .362. It's a different story for Spanish Fork, though, as they've only averaged .208. Will they be able to contain Payson's hitters?
