Make it ten blowout wins for the Parkside Rams this season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Monday as they easily beat Pocomoke 77-36 on the road. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Parkside has posted since December 14, 2023.
Parkside's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Zion Oge led the charge by scoring 29 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Oge has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Diamond Dixon, who scored 21 points.
Pocomoke's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Maddie Esham, who scored 13 points along with two steals, and Donyae Washington who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 14 rebounds. Washington hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for 11 straight games. Another player making a difference was Audrey Pham, who scored two points along with three steals.
The victory makes it two in a row for Parkside and bumps their season record up to 12-2. As for Pocomoke, their loss dropped their record down to 7-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Parkside's road trip will continue as they head out to face Mardela at 4:30 p.m. on January 23rd. Mardela will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Maryland Rankings (they are ranked 218th, while Parkside is ranked 56th). As for Pocomoke, they will head out on the road to square off against Crisfield at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Crisfield comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 21 points in their last five games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
