Peninsula has won six straight games at home, while Stadium has won six straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Monday. The Seahawks will welcome the Tigers at 3:30 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Peninsula 2.5, Stadium 3.9) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Peninsula fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Timberline on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Blazers by a score of 3-2. The Seahawks' loss signaled the end of their eight-game winning streak.
Abby Hoyt spent all 8.1 innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on three hits.
Meanwhile, Stadium's hitters rose to the challenge against a Vikings pitching crew that boasted an average of only 3.27 runs allowed on Monday. The Tigers blew past North Kitsap 13-2. Considering the Tigers have won ten matchups by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Stadium also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and she was also dialed-in: Josie Pendergrass gave up just two earned runs on three hits and racked up ten Ks. Pendergrass has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on London Kim, who went 2-for-5 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three RBI. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in March of 2025. Another player making a difference was Lily Hart, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Stadium kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Peninsula's defeat dropped their record down to 17-4. As for Stadium, their win bumped their record up to 14-5.
Monday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Peninsula hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .403. However, it's not like Stadium struggles in that department as they've averaged .337. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
