It was another big night for Luke Ross, who rushed for 112 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries, and also caught a touchdown. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in rushing yards. Hunter Livengood was in the mix as well, providing Northern with a touchdown.

Meanwhile, Mountain Ridge was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were outmatched by Fort Hill at home and fell 56-3. The match marked the Miners' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.
The win got Northern back to even at 3-3. As for Mountain Ridge, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 3-3.
Northern came up short against Mountain Ridge when the teams last played back in October of 2023, falling 28-21. Thankfully for Northern, Will Patterson (who threw for 214 yards and three touchdowns, and also rushed for 111 yards and a touchdown on only 15 carries) won't be suiting up this time.
