The Sundown Roughnecks lost against the Plains Cowboys back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Sundown took a 50-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of Plains.
When it comes to explaining why Sundown lost, one person who can't be blamed is Allie McCormick. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 29 points and 11 steals. That was a full 65.9% of Sundown's points, marking the eighth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Yaya Lopez was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with five steals.
Sundown's loss dropped their record down to 14-12. As for Plains, their win bumped their record up to 21-5.
Sundown will head out on the road to face off against Ropes at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Ropes is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games. As for Plains, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Seagraves at 6:15 p.m. Seagraves comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 25 points in their last ten games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
