Eastern Christian HomeSchool opened the new year with a less-than-successful 52-43 defeat to New Bern Christian Academy. Eastern Christian HomeSchool has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
New Bern Christian Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but KC Peter led the charge by scoring 22 points along with eight rebounds. The game was Peter's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Luke Puchalski, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds.
Eastern Christian HomeSchool has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-9 record this season. As for New Bern Christian Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Eastern Christian HomeSchool's road trip will continue as they head out to face Mattamuskeet at 7:30 p.m. on January 9th. Mattamuskeet will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive. As for New Bern Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Christ Covenant at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
