Softball Recap: Hall Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Hall hadn't done well against Mendota recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Red Devils came out on top against the Trojans by a score of 13-10. With that win, the Red Devils brought their scoring average up to 6.5 runs per game.

Caroline Morris and Ava Delphi did most of the damage at the plate: Morris scored two runs while going 2-for-4, while Delphi scored two runs while going 2-for-4. That's the most hits Delphi has posted since back in May of 2024. Leah Pelka was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

The victory was the third in a row for Hall, bringing their record up to 3-7. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Mendota, they dropped their record down to 2-5 with the loss, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hall will host Kewanee at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Mendota, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Earlville at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
