Defiance's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Defiance to victory, but perhaps none more so than Alexa Garcia, who scored 16 points. Garcia is trending in the right direction, as she's improved her point production for three games straight. The team also got some help courtesy of Samantha Hohenberger, who scored 13 points.
Swanton's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Peighton Manning, who scored 14 points. Another player making a difference was Olivia Gowing, who scored ten points.
Defiance's win ended a 13-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-16. As for Swanton, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-9 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Defiance will take on the Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Bath presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Bulldogs in Ohio (the Wildcats are ranked 146th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 687th). As for Swanton, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Panthers at 7:30 p.m.
