After a string of four wins, the Greenville Christian Academy Knights's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They fell to Liberty Christian 70-66. Despite running the score up even higher than they did on Saturday (55), Greenville Christian Academy still had to take the loss.
Greenville Christian Academy lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Andrew Dove, who scored 17 points along with six assists and five rebounds. Those 17 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Connor Dial, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds and five assists.
Leading Liberty Christian to victory were AJ Webb and Jakeem Bradford. Webb dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds, while Bradford scored 18 points along with six assists and three steals. The game was Bradford's 12th in a row with at least ten points. Nate Young was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 17 points and 12 rebounds.
Greenville Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 10-5. As for Liberty Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Greenville Christian Academy's road trip will continue as they head out to face Trinity Christian at 7:30 p.m. on January 11th. Trinity Christian will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive. As for Liberty Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against Living Water Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Living Water Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Friday.
