After a string of five wins, Yorba Linda's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They were beaten by the Santa Barbara Dons 88-39. The matchup marked the Mustangs' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Santa Barbara was led to victory by Luke Zuffelato and Carter Battle. Zuffelato shot 5-for-6 from beyond the arc and dropped a double-double on 25 points and ten rebounds, while Battle made all 10 shots he took to post 23 points and six steals. Zuffelato's evening made it 42 games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Owen Horn was another key player, going 5 of 9 on his way to 13 points.

Yorba Linda's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-5. As for Santa Barbara, they pushed their record up to 8-2 with the win, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season.

Yorba Linda won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Oak Park at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Santa Barbara, they and Dougherty Valley will face off at 7:00 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. Santa Barbara knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past ten games -- so hopefully Dougherty Valley likes a good challenge.
