Elwood is 1-9 against Eastbrook since December of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Elwood Panthers will be home for the holidays to greet the Eastbrook Panthers at 6:00 p.m. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Elwood has struggled recently with three defeats in a row, while Eastbrook will arrive with four straight wins.
Last Friday, Elwood took a serious blow against Blackford, falling 67-4. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Elwood has scored all season.
Eastbrook has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matchups by 24 points or more this season. They claimed a resounding 61-24 win over Blue River Valley on the road. Given Eastbrook's advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 57th, while Blue River Valley is ranked 212th), the result on Saturday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Elwood's loss was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 2-9. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 17.3 points per game. As for Eastbrook, their victory bumped their record up to 10-1.
Elwood took a serious blow against Eastbrook in their previous matchup back in February, falling 57-5. The match was all but decided by halftime, at which point Elwood was down 41-2.
