Mitchell waltzed into their contest  on Friday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They put the hurt on the Rapid City Central Cobblers with a sharp  3-0 victory. The Kernels were shut out  3-0 the last time they took on the Cobblers, so the Kernels were just returning the favor.
 Mitchell never let Rapid City Central on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. The final score came out to 25-11, 25-10,  26-24.
Mitchell found their leader in sophomore  Londyn Hajek, who  had seven  digs and two  aces.
 Mitchell  was lethal from the service line and  finished the match with 13  aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now  served at least five  aces in seven consecutive  matches.
Mitchell's win bumped their record up to 10-4. As for Rapid City Central,  they are  on  a  four-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 9-9.
 We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Mitchell is set to  challenge  their familiar foe Stevens  at 1:00  p.m.  on Saturday. Meanwhile, Rapid City Central will  take on  rival Huron  at 12:30  p.m.  on Saturday.
