The Tolleson Wolverines will challenge the Dobson Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Tolleson has five straight wins, Dobson has 13 straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Tolleson is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Valley Vista 19-4 on Thursday. The Wolverines might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 15 games by six runs or more this season.
Lilliana Reyes looked comfortable as she pitched 3.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off three hits. What's more, she posted five strikeouts, the most she's had since back in March.

Those three runs gave Martinez a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Emily Araiza, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two triples, three runs, and one stolen base.
Tolleson was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .633. They are a perfect 16-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Dobson lost 14-7 to Mesa on Thursday.
Nikole Torres made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Natalie Hamblin, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one double.
Tolleson's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-5. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Dobson, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-19.
Monday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Tolleson has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .510. However, it's not like Dobson struggles in that department as they've averaged .436. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Tolleson took their victory against Dobson when the teams last played back in April of 2018 by a conclusive 9-3 score. Do the Wolverines have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Mustangs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
