You can't lose the match if you win every quarter, and that was precisely the Gulf Buccaneers's strategy against the Shorecrest Prep Chargers on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Gulf blew the Chargers out of the water with a 58-2 final score. That 56 point margin sets a new team best for Gulf this season.
Gulf got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Kristin Erstentine out in front who scored 13 points along with four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Erstentine has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Tazaria Bankston, who scored two points along with 13 steals and eight rebounds.
The win makes it two in a row for Gulf and bumps their season record up to 11-14. As for Shorecrest Prep, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-16.
