Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lakeview Centennial). They snuck past the North Mesquite Stallions with an 81-75 win on Friday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Patriots also won the last time the pair played back in November of 2023.

Despite the defeat, North Mesquite saw an underclassman step up: freshman Syniyah Grigsby dropped a double-double on 37 points and 13 rebounds. That was a full 49.3% of North Mesquite's points, marking the fifth time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Gabriella Grigsby, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 11 rebounds.

Lakeview Centennial is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.5 points per game. As for North Mesquite, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-12.
