Basketball Game Preview: Browne Bruins vs. Cibola Raiders

The Browne Bruins will face off against the Cibola Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Browne is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57.7 points per game this season.

Browne will head into Wednesday's match after some sweet revenge against South Mountain: Browne made up a huge gap compared to their last game against South Mountain, but still couldn't quite topple them. Everything went Browne's way against South Mountain on Wednesday as Browne made off with a 76-54 win. The victory was some much needed relief for the Bruins as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Browne's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Adam Chaffin, who went 6 for 11 on his way to 18 points along with eight rebounds and seven blocks, and Karmello Walker, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 12 boards. That's the most blocks Chaffin has posted since back in January of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Raevonta Hill, who posted eight points and four steals.

Browne smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in eight consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Cibola came up short against Mountain View on Saturday and fell 56-48. The Raiders haven't had much luck with the Toros recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Browne's win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 8-12. As for Cibola, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-9.

Browne ended up a good deal behind Cibola when the teams last played back in November of 2023, losing 69-54. Can Browne avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
