Volleyball Recap: Goldwater Snags Ninth Victory in Last Ten Games

If Thunderbird wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Goldwater, they should've done a better job of containing Zachery Mieszkowski. The Bulldogs walked away with a 3-1 win over the Titans on Wednesday for which the team can thank Mieszkowski, who had 17 digs and one assist. He has been hot recently, having posted ten or more digs the last three times he's played.

Goldwater had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 15-25, 25-21, 25-21, 25-18.

Despite the loss, Thunderbird still got an impressive performance from Ethan Schlesinger, who had 11 digs.

Goldwater is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. As for Thunderbird, their defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-5.

Goldwater didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-2 victory against Greenway on the 17th. As for Thunderbird, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 3-0 win against Moon Valley on the 17th.
