Fort Lupton is 0-4 against the Thunderbolts since January of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Fort Lupton Bluedevils will look to defend their home court against the Manual Thunderbolts at 6:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Fort Lupton struggled with offensive rebounds on Saturday (the Tigers had eight more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Fort Lupton had to suffer through a rough 59-30 loss at the hands of the Tigers. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Fort Lupton in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now lost four in a row.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Marely Gomez, who scored eight points along with five steals. Gomez is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Micaela Garcia, who scored five points along with eight rebounds.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 58-20, which was the final score in Manual's tilt against the Jaguars on Thursday. While losing is never fun, Manual can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 246th, while the Jaguars are ranked 109th).
Fort Lupton's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-11. As for Manual, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-9.
Fort Lupton was dealt a bruising 55-18 loss at the hands of the Thunderbolts when the teams last played back in January of 2023. Will Fort Lupton have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other basketball content.
