Basketball Game Preview: Central of Coosa County Cougars vs. Horseshoe Bend Generals

The Central of Coosa County Cougars will square off against the Horseshoe Bend Generals at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with five consecutive losses for Central of Coosa County and three for Horseshoe Bend.

It was a proper cat-fight when Central of Coosa County took on Benjamin Russell on Friday. Central of Coosa County was dealt a 59-25 defeat at the hands of Benjamin Russell. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 315th, while the Wildcats are ranked 69th).

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Queen Ballard, who posted eight points along with nine boards and three blocks. She is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last 19 games she's played dating back to last season. Traci Cox was another key player, putting up eight points and eight boards.

Even though they lost, Central of Coosa County smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 13 offensive boards in ten consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 64-29, which was the final score in Horseshoe Bend's tilt against Ranburne on Monday.

Central of Coosa County's loss dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Horseshoe Bend, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-8.
