On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Rianna Stouppe, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played.
Meanwhile, St. Joseph waltzed into their game on Friday with three straight wins... but they left with four. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Warriors a 10-0 shutout. That ten run margin sets a new team best for the Knights this season.
Annalyssa Cota was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing three bases while going 1-for-3. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Seleny Chavez was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4.
St. Joseph was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .440. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .310 or higher in three consecutive matchups.
Lompoc pushed their record up to 8-2 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for St. Joseph, their win bumped their record up to 9-4.
St. Joseph's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Lompoc hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .321. It's a different story for St. Joseph, though, as they've only averaged .256. Will they be able to contain Lompoc's hitters?
Lompoc was able to grind out a solid victory over St. Joseph in their previous meeting two weeks ago, winning 7-3. Does Lompoc have another victory up their sleeve, or will St. Joseph turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
