Waynesville barely beat Brookville the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Spartans' pitchers stepped up to hand the Blue Devils  a   10-0 shutout  on Monday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Spartans needed considering they were shut out in their previous   matchup.

 Sage Beck tossed a big game,   not allowing a single  earned run and  allowing only  one  hit over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't  given up  more than one  hit in three consecutive appearances.
 On the hitting side,  Sam Papanek was  incredible,  scoring two  runs and  stealing a base while  getting on base  in four of his five plate appearances. He is  on a roll when it comes to  stolen bases, as he's  now  snagged  at least one in each of the last three games he's  played. The team also got some help courtesy of  Ben Freese, who  got on base  in three of his four plate appearances with one  triple, two  RBI,  and one  run.
Waynesville's victory  ended  a  three-game drought at home  and  bumped them up to 2-3. As for Brookville, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-5.
 Looking ahead, Waynesville will venture away from home to  take on Eaton  at 5:00  p.m.  on Monday. As for Brookville, they will welcome Oakwood  at 5:00  p.m.  on Wednesday. The Lumberjacks will roll in looking for their  sixth straight  win, something the Blue Devils surely won't give up without a fight.
