If the Hoisington Cardinals were riding high off their 52-32 takedown of the Pratt Greenbacks last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Hoisington fell to Smoky Valley 54-49. Hoisington was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Smoky Valley apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.
When it comes to explaining why Hoisington lost on Tuesday, one person who can't be blamed is Kylee Hahn. Despite the final result, she scored 21 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hahn has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Tianna Lutters, who scored 12 points.
Hoisington dropped their record down to 10-5 with that loss, which was their third straight at home. As for Smoky Valley, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hoisington will challenge Haven at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Hoisington focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Tuesday. As for Smoky Valley, they will head out on the road to square off against Larned on Thursday. Smoky Valley will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Larned surely won't give up without a fight.
