The Latta Vikings won the last time they faced the Cheraw Braves, and things went their way on Tuesday too. Latta snuck past Cheraw with a 35-31 win.
Leading Latta to victory were Layla Hyatt and Azarriona Mcrae. Hyatt scored 12 points, while Mcrae scored 12 points.
Despite the loss, Cheraw had strong showings from Cherita Burns, who scored 14 points along with 8 rebounds and 4 steals, and Anyah Banks, who scored 4 points along with 5 steals.
The victory got Latta back to even at 1-1. As for Cheraw, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Latta will take on East Clarendon at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. East Clarendon is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. As for Cheraw, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome McBee at 6:00 p.m. on December 7th. McBee comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
