The Howard Lions won the last time they faced the Winters Mill Falcons, and things went their way on Wednesday too. Howard came out on top against Winters Mill by a score of 52-44. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Howard.
Winters Mill lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Owen Case, who scored 15 points along with five assists. Case also grabbed two steals for the first time this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Sam Wivell, who scored ten points along with three steals.
The win got Howard back to even at 3-3. As for Winters Mill, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Howard will finish 2023 at home by hosting Westminster at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday. Westminster will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Maryland Rankings (they are ranked 232nd, while Howard is ranked 100th). As for Winters Mill, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on North County at 8:30 p.m. on December 28, 2023. North County is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
