The Cottonwood Colts will be playing in front of their home fans against the Park City Miners at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Cottonwood's favor as the squad sits on 15 straight wins at home while Park City has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road.
Even though Stansbury scored an imposing 63 points on Thursday, Cottonwood still came out on top. Cottonwood strolled past Stansbury with points to spare, taking the game 79-63. Given Cottonwood's advantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked 32nd, while Stansbury is ranked 112th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
John Rosevear and Peter Oguama were among the main playmakers for Cottonwood as the former scored 17 points along with three steals and the latter scored 19 points along with three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Oguama has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Ryan Nielson, who scored nine points along with five rebounds and three blocks.
Meanwhile, Park City pushed their score all the way to 63 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 71-63 to Jordan.
Cottonwood is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. As for Park City, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season.
Everything went Cottonwood's way against Park City in their previous meeting back in December of 2022 as Cottonwood made off with a 72-51 win. Does Cottonwood have another victory up their sleeve, or will Park City turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
