Murphy was led to victory by Cordairus Dixon and Jayden Mangram. Dixon scored 13 points, while Mangram scored 14 points along with 3 steals. Dixon is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now stole two or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jabaris Jackson, who scored 4 points along with 5 rebounds.
Murphy's win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Gulf Shores, their defeat was their fourth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 6-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Murphy won't have much time to rest: their next match is against UMS-Wright Prep at 7:30 p.m. on November 29th. UMS-Wright Prep will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings (they are ranked 235th, while Murphy is ranked 48th). As for Gulf Shores, they will be playing at home against Bayside Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
