Joel Barlow has gone 8-2 against Pomperaug recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Falcons will look to defend their home field against the Panthers at 4:15 p.m. Joel Barlow is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.9 runs per game this season.
Joel Barlow took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They never let Bunnell get on the board and left with a 10-0 win. The Falcons haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Gavin Maryott was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over six innings pitched. Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one run.
In other batting news, Joel Barlow got a big performance out of Billy Bardani, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. That double was Bardani's first of the season. Jimmy Kennedy was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and two doubles.
Joel Barlow kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in six consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Pomperaug fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against New Milford on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Green Wave by a score of 6-5. The game snapped a strange streak: the last four times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.
Kyle Bisceglia was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed six innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Alex Augustine made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Pane, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.
Joel Barlow's win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-2. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.1 runs on average over those games. As for Pomperaug, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-10.
Pomperaug's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Joel Barlow has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .474. It's a different story for Pomperaug, though, as they've only averaged .333. Will they be able to contain Joel Barlow's hitters?
Joel Barlow took their win against Pomperaug in their previous matchup back in April by a conclusive 14-3 score. Do the Falcons have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Panthers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
