After flying high against the Dugger Union Bulldogs on Saturday, the Red Hill Salukis came back down to earth. Red Hill took a 59-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of Martinsville. Red Hill was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Martinsville apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.
It was another big night for Adam Parcel, who dropped a double-double on 27 points and 11 rebounds for Martinsville. That makes it four consecutive games in which Parcel has scored at least a third of Martinsville's points. Hector Herrrera was another key contributor, almost dropping a double-double on 14 points and nine rebounds.
Red Hill has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-15 record this season. As for Martinsville, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-16.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Red Hill will play host again and welcome Lawrenceville, where tip off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Lawrenceville knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past nine contests -- so hopefully Red Hill likes a good challenge. As for Martinsville, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Dieterich at 6:00 p.m. Dieterich is coming into the match with five straight wins on the road, so Martinsville is out to stop a team with plenty of momentum.
