She looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out six batters over  six innings while giving up just two earned  (and five unearned) runs off   eight  hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't  pitched less than five  innings in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate,  scoring a  run while going 1-for-3.
 Mandrell wasn't  the only one making solid contact as  four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was  Kelsey Kunz, who  scored a  run while going 1-for-3.
 St. Dominic's loss  ended  a  four-game streak of wins at home  and  dropped them to 13-6. As for Jackson, the  win was  the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 20-8.
 St. Dominic will play host again  on Thursday to welcome Incarnate Word Academy, where first pitch is scheduled  at 6:00  p.m. As for Jackson, they will square off against Chaffee at 4:30  p.m.  on Thursday.
