Volleyball Recap: Desert Pines Takes a Loss

After flying high against Canyon Springs last Friday, Desert Pines came back down to earth. The Desert Pines Jaguars came up short against the Sports Leadership & Management Bulls on Monday, falling 3-0. The matchup marked the first time this season in which the Jaguars were not able to get on the board.

While Desert Pines was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. The final score came out to 25-16, 25-22, 25-13.

Cesar Velasco paced Desert Pines' offense, picking up eight kills. Velasco got some help from Jose Garcia and his nine assists.

Desert Pines' loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Sports Leadership & Management, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to a perfect 2-0.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Desert Pines will square off against Western at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Sports Leadership & Management, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Pinecrest Academy Sloan Canyon at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
