University Christian has gone a perfect 4-0 against North Florida Christian recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Christians will square off against the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
University Christian is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Harvest Community an 8-0 shutout. The victory was familiar territory for the Christians, who have now won four contests in a row.
Piper Tessier was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 12 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple was her first of the season.
In other pitching news, Dixie Tessier tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out eight over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 19 consecutive appearances.

Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Mila Lackowski, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Sinai Tunsill also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
Meanwhile, North Florida Christian got the win against St. John Paul II on Tuesday by a conclusive 9-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Eagles.
Like University Christian, North Florida Christian also got a great game from a two-way player: Gabrielle Hughes. Throwing, Hughes pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Skylar Young didn't allow a single earned run over 4.1 innings pitched. At the plate, Hughes went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs and one RBI, while Young went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.
In other batting news, Allison Townley was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Brynlee Pafford, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.
University Christian's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-4. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.0 runs on average over those games. As for North Florida Christian, their record is now 15-8.
University Christian took their win against North Florida Christian when the teams last played back in May of 2023 by a conclusive 12-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Christians since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
