The Jenkins Warriors's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fifth straight loss. They fell just short of Richmond Hill by a score of 50-48. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss Jenkins has suffered yet this season.
Despite the loss, Jenkins still got an impressive performance from Jeremiah James, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds. James is absolutely dominating the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Dominique Johnson, who scored nine points.
Jenkins has been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-11 record this season. As for Richmond Hill, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-17.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jenkins will challenge Swainsboro at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Richmond Hill, they will head out on the road to face off against Valdosta at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Valdosta knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matchups -- so hopefully Richmond Hill likes a good challenge.
