AA West recap October 1, 2013
St. Mary's Central extended the longest winning streak in AA West this week by beating Trinity/New England, 42-12. The win marks fifth in a row for the the Saints.
Beulah's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. On the ground Kamron Unruh chipped in 197 yards.
Unruh was a passing and rushing force as the Miners beat Turtle Mountain.
Unruh was the best running back in the league this week. In 22 carries, he ran for 197 yards as Beulah topped the Braves. Matthew Krizan also contributed to the rushing game with 67 yards on the ground.
Beulah's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Miners feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Casey Walcker has thrown for 250 yards this season, while Landon Battest has 6 catches for 159 yards.
The marquee game in the league this week will be the clash between St. Mary's Central and Watford City/Alexander/Johnson Corners Christian Academy. The Saints enters the game ranked fifth in the state, while the Wolves ranks 25th.
St. Mary's Central led AA West in scoring this week by notching 42 points on the Titans.
