If the St. Joseph Chargers were riding high off their 55-30 takedown of Payton College Prep on Saturday, that ride came to an abrupt end. On Tuesday, St. Joseph lost to the Fenwick Friars on the road by a decisive 61-47 margin. The Chargers might have entered gameday a little too confident, resting on the laurels of their 73-65 victory against Fenwick when they previously met last February.
St. Joseph's defeat pushed them down to 13-15. The win -- their third in a row -- raised Fenwick's record to 23-6.
St. Joseph will look to defend their home court Friday against De La Salle. The MaxPreps rankings favor St. Joseph, but they won't be able to rely on this superior ranking alone to carry them to victory. Fenwick will be hunkering down at home again for their contest against Loyola Academy Friday. Like the Friars, Loyola Academy is also coming into the matchup bolstered by a recent victory.
