The Tabiona Tigers stacked an eighth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Saturday. They really took it to Waterford for the full four quarters, racking up a 74-42 win on the road. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Tabiona has posted since December 27, 2023.
Tabiona got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Chance Lazenby out in front who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Lazenby has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last three times he's played. Logan Rhoades was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
When it comes to explaining why Waterford lost, one person who can't be blamed is Preston Jenkins. Despite the final result, he scored 16 points along with six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Hisham Ali, who scored ten points.
Tabiona has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season. As for Waterford, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tabiona will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against Duchesne at 7:30 p.m. on January 31st. Duchesne will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak. As for Waterford, they will head out on the road to square off against St. Joseph at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. St. Joseph has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 8.
