Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Gulf Pointe Latin). They strolled past the Aletheia Christian Academy Lions with points to spare on Thursday, taking the game 57-39. That's two games straight that the Gladiators have won by exactly 18 points.

Gulf Pointe Latin's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Rebekah Thompson led the charge by putting up 19 points in addition to eight boards and four steals. The matchup was Thompson's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Bethany Crumpler, who went 5 of 11 en route to 13 points along with six steals and five boards.

Gulf Pointe Latin smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in seven consecutive contests.

Several Lions players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Gulf Pointe Latin is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.0 points per game. As for Aletheia Christian Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-6 record this season.
