Zack Johnson and Christian Moore provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Amador. The connection was good for 85 yards, the longest such play in Mother Lode this season.
Summerville moved up to 314 from 357 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Bears were able to make the jump by beating Bret Harte 35-6.
Calaveras's dynamic duo of Johnson and Moore proved tough for the Buffaloes to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Johnson threw for 206 yards and two touchdowns and Moore had 113 yards receiving. Mike Seawell helped Calaveras' passing attack out by catching three balls for 42 yards.
Tanner Krieg was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 90 yards on 22 carries as Summerville defeated Amador. Brendan Brick also contributed to the rushing game with 34 yards on the ground.
Calaveras' Johnson and Seawell have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading Mother Lode in both passing and receiving yards. Johnson has thrown for 914 yards this season, while Seawell has 17 catches for 307 yards. Krieg from Ben Watson's team leads the league in rushing with 774 yards.
Two of the top units in the league will face off this week when the Bears take on Argonaut. Summerville's offense has scored 239 points this season, good for No. 1 in the league, while the Mustangs have allowed only 37 on the year.
The Bears extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating the Bullfrogs, 35-6. This was the team's sixth consecutive win.
