The Westview Chargers managed to keep up with the Gibson County Pioneers until halftime on Friday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Westview's tough 63-39 loss to Gibson County might stick with them for a while. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Westview has suffered yet this season.
Westview lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Kylee Alexander, who scored 11 points. Another player making a difference was Ashlee Brent, who scored nine points.
Westview's defeat dropped their record down to 14-3. As for Gibson County, their victory bumped their record up to 16-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Westview will challenge Peabody at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Peabody will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive. As for Gibson County, they will head out on the road to face off against South Gibson at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. South Gibson will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
