Xavier College Prep posted their biggest victory since December 2, 2023 on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Basha 88-40 at home. Given Xavier College Prep's advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked second, while Basha is ranked 96th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Xavier College Prep had a senior duo take command as Dominique Nesland scored 23 points along with five rebounds and three steals and Jasmine Olivar scored 13 points along with seven steals and six assists. Nesland is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last six games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Irene (Noelle) Guiamatsia, who scored ten points along with nine rebounds and three blocks.
Meanwhile, Hamilton made easy work of Chandler on Friday and carried off a 66-41 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Hamilton has posted against Chandler since January 26, 2021.
Xavier College Prep's victory bumped their record up to 16-3. As for Hamilton, their victory bumped their record up to 14-4.
