They strolled past Papillion-LaVista with points to spare, taking the game 62-43. Given Creighton Prep's advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 24th, while Papillion-LaVista is ranked 124th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Dillon Claussen, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 13 rebounds. The contest was his sixth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Trinell Parker, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds.
Meanwhile, Millard South had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. Everything went their way against Columbus last Saturday as Millard South made off with a 69-46 win. Millard South's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Millard South relied on the efforts of Isaac Jensen, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds, and Bernie Anderson, who scored 16 points. Jensen also grabbed two steals for the first time this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Sam Cooper, who scored 15 points.
Creighton Prep's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-1. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 21 points. As for Millard South, their victory bumped their record up to 2-4.
Friday's match is shaping up to be a masterclass in shooting: Creighton Prep have been dynamite from deep this season, having drained 47.8% of their threes per game. However, it's not like Millard South struggles in that department as they've nailed 42% of their threes per game this season. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
