Foothill Tech is 6-1 against Hueneme since March of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Foothill Tech Dragons will look to defend their home field against the Hueneme Vikings at 3:30 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Foothill Tech took a loss when they played away from home back in February, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed last Monday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Carpinteria an 18-0 shutout. The Dragons haven't had any issues with the Warriors recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Jaelyn Perez was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-low in earned runs (zero). She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in February of 2024.
In other batting news, Foothill Tech got a massive performance out of Tyler Trigo, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance gave Trigo a new career-high in runs. Jocelyn Morales was another key player, scoring four runs and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
Foothill Tech was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .538. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .360 or higher in three consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hueneme). They put the hurt on Carpinteria with a sharp 12-4 win on Tuesday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Vikings needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.
Jaucelynn Ayala and Delilah Pereyra made a big impact no matter where they played. On the mound, Ayala didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over four innings pitched. Meanwhile, Pereyra pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Ayala has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances. At bat, Ayala scored a run while going 2-for-2, while Pereyra scored three runs and stole Five bases. while going 3-for-4. Those hits marked the first that Pereyra got this season.
In other batting news, Roxanna Silva was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing Two bases. while going 3-for-5. The team also got some help courtesy of Citlalli (CC) Cardoso-Lopez, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances.
The victory got Hueneme back to even at 4-4. As for Foothill Tech, the win got them back to even at 2-2.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Foothill Tech has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 6.2 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Hueneme struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.5 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Foothill Tech took their victory against Hueneme in their previous matchup back in February by a conclusive 14-3. Does Foothill Tech have another victory up their sleeve, or will Hueneme turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
