Olathe East was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from ninth to seventh in Sunflower. The Hawks vanquished Blue Valley North 31-14 earlier in the week.
Lawrence extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Leavenworth, 44-8. The win marks sixth in a row for the the Lions.
South's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Falcons feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Frank Seurer has thrown for 390 yards and five touchdowns this season, while Matt Elliot has 10 catches for 155 yards. Russell White leads the league in rushing with 722 yards.
The marquee game in Sunflower this week will be the clash between West and East. The Vikings comes into the matchup ranked 19th in the state, while the Lancers ranks 22nd.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when West takes on East. Tim Callaghan's team has allowed 94 points this season, while Chip Sherman's team has given up 87. The Vikings allowed 0 points last week as they beat North.
West took down the Indians 58-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
