The Clark Cougars will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Judson Rockets at 7:30 p.m. Clark will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive.
Even though Clark has not done well against Brandeis recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way two weeks ago. Clark enjoyed a cozy 29-14 win over Brandeis.
Clark's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Armon Gardner, who rushed for 132 yards and two touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Phillip Metzger, who threw for 246 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 11.7 yards per attempt.
Meanwhile, Judson pushed their score all the way to 35 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of New Braunfels by a score of 37-35. Judson has not had much luck with New Braunfels recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Demo Mcgarity, who rushed for 46 yards and a touchdown, and also picked up 62 receiving yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Elijah Favela, who threw for 267 yards and three touchdowns while completing 78.6% of his passes.
Clark's victory bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Judson, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.
