The Shadow Ridge Mustangs came tearing into Monday's matchup with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.2 points) and they left with even more momentum. They strolled past Arbor View with points to spare, taking the game 60-41. That's another feather in the cap for Shadow Ridge, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Shadow Ridge's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jaslyn Jefferson, who scored 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zh'mya Martin, who scored 14 points.
Despite the loss, Arbor View saw an underclassman step up: Sanai Branch scored 14 points along with three steals.
Shadow Ridge is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 14 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season. As for Arbor View, their loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 6-13.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Shadow Ridge will challenge Las Vegas at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Shadow Ridge is facing Las Vegas at the right time seeing as Las Vegas is stuck on a 19-game losing streak. As for Arbor View, they will head out on the road to take on Coronado at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Arbor View focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 27 on Monday.
