After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Franklin Academy, the Neuse Charter Cougars were happy to have found some success on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 54-39 win over Southside Christian. That looming 54-39 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Neuse Charter yet this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Neuse Charter to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jayvin Bradley, who scored 23 points along with five rebounds and two steals. That makes it five consecutive games in which Bradley has scored at least a third of Neuse Charter's points. Jayden Atkinson was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with ten rebounds and three steals.
Despite the loss, Southside Christian still got an impressive performance from Luke Boush, who scored 28 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Boush hasn't dropped below 15points for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Aiden Kunkel, who scored no points along with six steals.
Neuse Charter's win ended a seven-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-14. As for Southside Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Neuse Charter will take on North Duplin at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in North Duplin's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three contests. As for Southside Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Liberty Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
