Von Steuben had lost three straight on the road, but on Friday they dropped their record down to 3-5 to make it four. They fell 9-4 to the Senn Bulldogs. If the Panthers were looking for revenge after losing 14-3 to the Bulldogs when the teams met back in March of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Skye Rojek made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three stolen bases, and two doubles. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. Another player making a difference was Emma Hernandez, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double.
As for Senn, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 9-1. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.0 runs over those games.
On Senn's side, Audrey Lebovitz made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out 18 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. Lebovitz has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, Pippa Gerharz and Gabrielle Smith did most of the damage at the plate: Gerharz went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while Smith got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Gerharz is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games she's played. Ericka Ako was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
While Von Steuben had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
