The team relied heavily on Gib Wirt, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Anthony Valdez, who went 1-for-3 with four RBI and one run.
Burlington Christian Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .345 or higher in four consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Northeast Guilford made easy work of Southern Guilford on Tuesday and carried off a 16-4 win. The Rams are also no stranger to big wins: their blowout was the third match they've won by 6+ runs this season.
Aiden Gray looked comfortable as he pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Paul Mitchell was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That home run marked the first that he launched this season. Caiden McNeil was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing Three bases. while going 2-for-4.
Burlington Christian Academy's victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-0. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 9.7 runs. As for Northeast Guilford, their record is now 3-4.
Both Burlington Christian Academy and Northeast Guilford just can't seem to miss. Burlington Christian Academy has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 12.6 hits per game. However, it's not like Northeast Guilford struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 3.7 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
