The Altus Bulldogs will take on the Big Pasture Rangers at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday. Altus will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
Altus' pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They blew past Classen SAS 17-0. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won six contests by eight runs or more so far this season.

Griffin Marshall was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He struck out nine batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). Those zero hits allowed gave him a new career-low. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-1. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.
In other batting news, Tate Saxon was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-1. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Grady Grubaugh, who scored a run while going 1-for-1.
Altus always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .880. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Big Pasture came up short against Binger-Oney on Tuesday and fell 10-7.
Like Altus, Big Pasture also got a great game from a two-way player: LAYNE DAVIDSON. Throwing, DAVIDSON struck out six batters over 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and not a single walk). Meanwhile, LANE TINSLEY tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. At the plate, DAVIDSON scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4, while TINSLEY scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was LAWSON McCULLOUGH, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those doubles marked the first that he hit this season.
Altus has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.4 runs on average over those games. Big Pasture's loss dropped their record down to 3-5.
Thursday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Altus hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .332. However, it's not like Big Pasture struggles in that department as they've averaged .356. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Altus took their victory against Big Pasture in their previous meeting back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 20-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for Altus since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
