Diman RVT has gone 9-1 against Tri-County RVT recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Bengals will head out on the road to face off against the Cougars at 3:30 p.m. Diman RVT will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
On Wednesday, Diman RVT beat Blue Hills RVT 6-3.
Carter Perreira spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned runs on eight hits.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Matt Almeida, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Samuel Perry, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Tri-County RVT might've scored the first runs on Wednesday, but it was Southeastern RVT who claimed the real prize. The Cougars fell 10-5 to the Hawks.
Tri-County RVT saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Noah Roche, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. Roche has become a key player for the Cougars: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 5-6-1 otherwise.
Diman RVT pushed their record up to 9-4 with the win, which was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.7 runs over those games. As for Tri-County RVT, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-7-1 record this season.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Diman RVT has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.6 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Tri-County RVT struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8.1 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Diman RVT skirted past Tri-County RVT 3-1 in their previous meeting last Monday. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bengals since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
